During a 2018 residency at Imágenes y Palabras - El Hacedor, in Burgos Province, Spain, I was provided with a workspace filled with an astonishing collection of tools and hardware. These numerous objects of utility lived on as memories or embodiments of the work they had performed and those who had handled them. Now sorted and stored in labelled drawers, boxes and cabinets, they jostled together like family members residing together, each at their designated addresses.
